Decorating a home office should be no different than any other room so pick your theme and then decorate accordingly!
The first thing you might consider is a painting the room. The color you choose depends on your given theme - if it's modern décor you are after in the office than a nice cocoa or beige would look great but if you want an exotic tropical feel try for yellow or light blue.
Next, you've got to choose your desk accessories to match the theme. Just picking a pencil holder, waste basket and outbaskets that are on topic with your decorating theme will do a lot to infuse the theme in the room. If you can afford it, buy a desk and chairs that match your given theme.
